3rd Grade Inventions

To do some more research on our inventions, we are going to use WorldBook Online. This website is a digital version of the World Book Encyclopedias. When we find our inventions, we want to do 3 things:

  1. Look at pictures and videos
  2. Listen to your article through the headphones
  3. Make a printer friendly copy of your article and print it out for your folder


3rd Grade Birds – Part 1

Today, we are going to work on a few skills and make a sheet to take to science. On this sheet, you will have some information about the classification of your bird. Ms. Pritchard will work more with you on it next week.

To find your information, you are going to go to Wikipedia and then use the box on the right-hand side.


3rd Grade State Project – Part 1

Once you have your facts typed and printed, you can begin your map.

  1. Go to the Xpedition Atlas to find a blank map of your state.
  2. Click on the Enlarge (GIF) link to get your map as big as you can.
  3. Drag your map into your Pages document.

3rd Grade Imaginary Bird Project

In order to build your imaginary bird,  you are going to complete this workbook. Make sure you follow the directions and work in order.

1. Body – what size will your bird be?

  • Figure out which size your bird should be by using this website.
  • Go to ask.com, search for images of your bird. Remember, you will need a body on which you can add a head.

2. Beaks – what head will your bird have?

  • Use this website to see which types of birds have your beak.
  • Go to ask.com, search for images, and look up the bird with your beak.

3. Wings – find out which types of birds have your wings.

  • The Bird Site will teach you about wings.
  • Then go back to ask.com, search for images

3. Feet – find out which types of birds have your feet and leggs.

  • The Bird Site will teach you about wings.
  • Then go back to ask.com, search for images
